PAD OWNERS

Your community's home on PATV

A pad is your community's own corner of PATV: a page, a feed of posts, a stage for live streams and a vault of PAT points that rewards your regulars. You run it, and Pepe, PATV's host, helps. Brand new to PATV? The quick tour just below explains the basics.

👋 New here? PATV in a minute

Never used PATV before? Here's what the rest of this guide takes for granted, in plain words.

PATV
PATV (Public Access TV) is a hub of pads: online communities, each with a page, a feed of posts, a stage for live streams and, if it likes, a connected chat room. Anyone can join in, watch, post and play.
A pad
One community on PATV, like a club with its own clubhouse. It has an address (p/name), its own members and its own house rules. Whoever creates a pad is its owner, and that could be you.
PAT
PATV's points. You earn them by taking part: chatting, playing games, unlocking achievements, spinning the wheel and more. You spend them on things on the site: boosts, stage slots, cosmetics, games and prizes in the prize shop. You can also get them as a thank-you when you donate to PATV. They're points for fun, with no cash value.
Pepe
PATV's host: a friendly frog who chats, runs games, plays music and helps keep rooms safe. On your pad, he's your co-host.
A vault
A pot of PAT that belongs to a pad, not to a person. It fills up as people spend and take part in the pad, and each day it shares some out to the people who keep the pad going, you included.
Prime Time and Plus
Optional upgrades for a pad, paid in PAT. Prime Time adds a badge, a theme, extra stage slots and a soundboard; Prime Time Plus adds a live Camfrog chat room with Pepe in it. Every pad works and earns without them.

Bump into a word you don't know? The glossary at the bottom explains every one.

What a pad is for

PATV is the hub, and pads are where communities actually live, each with its own address, its own regulars and its own rules. Here's what you get when you open one.

A home with your name on it

Your own address (p/name), an avatar, a banner and a colour. Add up to 15 house rules of your own on top of Padiquette (the rules every pad follows), and hand out flair to your members.

A feed for your crowd

Your pad's wall of posts: photos, clips and chat from your members, all in one place. Pepe can join the conversation, and his automatic filter holds anything sketchy until you've had a look.

A stage anyone can go live on

Your pad's live channel. Members go live from OBS (free streaming software), a web browser, YouTube or Twitch. You set up to 4 slots (places on the stage people can book) and their price, or keep them free, approve bookings and feature the stream that matters.

A vault that pays your people

Every pad has one, connected to a chat room or not: a pot of PAT that belongs to your pad. It fills when people spend PAT and take part in your pad, and every day it shares some out to you, your streamers and your regulars (the members who keep coming back).

Your chat room, connected (optional)

Already have a live chat room where your crowd hangs out? Connect it. Its chat, mic clips, cam snapshots and transcripts show up on your pad's page, Pepe moves into the room, and PAT spent there fills your vault too. Connecting a Camfrog room takes 💎 Prime Time Plus.

One owner panel

Your control room: the vault, your earnings, the stage, Prime Time and every Pepe setting that's yours, on one page, with a plain explanation on every card.

How your pad earns PAT

Run a lively pad and it rewards you. Every pad earns: even a basic pad has a feed, a stage and a vault, and when people show up and take part, PAT flows into the vault and back out to the people who made it happen. PAT is points for fun inside PATV, with no cash value.

  1. People spend PAT and take part in your pad

When someone spends PAT in your pad (a boost, a stage slot, a gift, Prime Time chip-ins or, in a connected chat room, Pepe's paid commands, songs, voices and heist gear), half lands in your vault. The other half goes to Fort Knox, PATV's big shared vault.

  2. The vault shares out PAT every day

Each day your vault pays out up to 10% of what's in it (you choose anywhere from 2% to 15%). That payout is split five ways: owner 15% (that's you), streamers 25%, regulars 35%, the gang that controls the room 15% and prizes for room games 10%.

  3. You collect the owner's share

Be active on 3 of the last 7 days, and keep your pad busy on 3 of them, and the owner's 15% is yours. Either place counts: on the pad (posting, commenting, streaming on its stage or moderating, with 3 or more members active there that day) or in a connected chat room (being in the room while it's busy). It's capped at 25% of what your pad takes in on an average day, so it grows as your pad gets busier.

More ways the vault fills

  • Activity bonus. PATV adds extra PAT to busy pads' vaults, based on real activity: posts that get upvotes and comments from real members, streams people watch, and chat and mic time in a connected room. It's never more than the pad pays out.
  • Donations. Anyone can donate PAT to your vault from the pad page.
  • Your soundboard. Prime Time pads get their own soundboard: short sound clips people pay PAT to play. Most of every paid play of your pad's own clips goes into its vault (Pepe plays them in a connected chat room).
  • A head start. While your pad is new, PATV matches the PAT you put into its vault, and newcomers get a welcome gift of PAT when they visit.
  • Your profile has a vault too. Your own profile page has a vault, just like a pad. What others spend on your profile, donations and the activity bonus fill it, and it pays you when your posts get real engagement from others.

Fair by design: putting in your own PAT, donations and your own spending never raise your share, and when you spend in your own pad it all goes to Fort Knox. Rewards come from other people actually showing up.

No upgrade and no chat room needed: every pad has a vault and earns from its activity. Curious where every PAT comes from and where it goes? How PAT works shows it all.

🐸 Pepe, your co-host

Pepe is PATV's host: a frog who chats on the site and in connected chat rooms. He's quick, warm and a little chaotic. He learns your room's vibe, whether it's a fight room or a support room, remembers your regulars and keeps the energy up when things go quiet. He roasts people because he likes them, and they can tell.

He keeps the room alive

  • Greets regulars with something he actually remembers about them.
  • Starts a conversation when the room goes quiet, once per quiet spell, after a wait you choose.
  • Runs the games: trivia, pictionary, heists (team jobs from Grand Theft Frogger, PATV's crime game), the wheel, bingo, duels and card tables.
  • DJs, takes song requests and judges mic challenges (contests on the mic), with prizes from your vault.
  • Announces it in your room when a stream on your pad goes live.

He has your back

  • Kicks, bans, mutes, times out and fines (takes PAT from rule-breakers) for you. Type it in the room or click it in your owner panel; every action is written down in your moderation log.
  • Polices mic hogs (people who won't give up the mic) with a strike count you set.
  • Calls out moderators who abuse their powers, in the open, and says what he did and why.
  • Lets your room vote to kick, block or time someone out, if you switch community votes on.
  • Holds sketchy posts on your feed for you to check. Every call can be reversed.
One thing he never does: ban anyone on his own. People make the calls. You outrank him, and your override clears his record.

What you can do with Pepe

Pick what you want to do. Each card links to the commands (what you type in chat to get Pepe to do things) for your connected chat room, and to the full owner reference.

Bring people in

Make newcomers feel like regulars and give regulars a reason to come back.

  • Welcome-back greetings, with a note on what Pepe should mention
  • Conversation starters when the room goes quiet
  • Pepe posting in your pad's feed, as often as you like
  • Boosts: spend PAT to push your pad up the front page

Keep the room lively

Switch on the games and music your crowd loves, room by room.

  • Trivia, pictionary, heists, the wheel and bingo
  • Hold'em and blackjack tables, duels and brawls
  • Mic challenges, judged by Pepe and paid from your vault
  • Music, song requests and the DJ's drops between songs

Put on a show

Give your streamers a real stage and capture the best moments.

  • Stage slots, prices, bookings and a featured stream
  • Cam snapshots, cam clips and mic clips
  • Captions of what Pepe says on the mic
  • A soundboard of lines and clips (Prime Time)

Keep it safe

Run your room your way, with Pepe doing the clicking.

  • Kick, ban, punish, mic block and unblock
  • Time-outs in your room only, up to 24 hours
  • Moderator, admin and friend roles
  • Mic-hog policing, community votes and the automatic feed filter

Make it yours

Tell Pepe what kind of room this is, and he'll fit right in.

  • The room's vibe and how hard Pepe roasts
  • The language Pepe speaks in your room
  • Pepe's voice in your room, from voices you own
  • What Pepe knows about your room, and what he forgets

Grow the vault

A full vault means bigger prizes and better payouts for everyone.

  • Add your own PAT to the vault, on the site or in chat
  • PATV matches what you add while your pad is new
  • Your payout rate, from 2% to 15% a day
  • Donations from anyone who loves the place

Connected chat

A connected chat room is a live chat room linked to your pad: Pepe works in it, and your pad's page shows what's happening there. Each chat service gets its own command guide.

Camfrog connected today

A live video chat app with rooms. Pepe sits in the room, and your pad page carries its chat, mic, cams and transcripts.

📺 Go bigger with Prime Time

Every pad earns without an upgrade. Prime Time and Prime Time Plus are optional upgrades, paid in PAT, 30 days at a time. Anyone can chip in to keep them on, so your regulars can keep the lights on together, and when someone else chips in, half of what they pay lands in your pad's vault.

📖 Glossary

Every PATV word on this page, in plain English.

PAT
PATV's points. Earned by taking part (chatting, playing, achievements, the wheel…), spent on things on the site (boosts, stage slots, cosmetics, games, prize-shop prizes), or given as a thank-you for donating. No cash value.
Pad
A community on PATV with its own page, feed, stage and vault, and optionally a connected chat room. The person who runs it is its owner.
Vault
A pad's own pot of PAT. Spending and activity in the pad fill it; every day it pays some out. It holds up to 50,000,000 PAT; anything above that goes to Fort Knox.
Payout
The PAT a vault shares out each day: 10% of its balance unless the owner picks another rate, anywhere from 2% to 15%.
The payout split
How each day's payout is shared: the owner 15% (the person who runs the pad), streamers 25% (people who go live on the pad), regulars 35% (members who keep coming back and taking part), the gang 15% (the gang that controls the room) and games 10% (prizes for games played in the room).
Boost
PAT spent to push a pad up the front page for a while. Anyone can boost a pad they like; half goes into its vault.
Stage
A pad's live video spot. Members book a slot and stream to it; the owner sets the slots and prices and picks the featured stream.
Flair
Small coloured labels a pad makes for its own people and posts, shown next to names and post titles on that pad.
Prime Time
An optional pad upgrade, paid in PAT: a badge, a theme, an intro, extra stage slots and a soundboard.
Prime Time Plus
Everything in Prime Time, plus a live Camfrog chat room connected to the pad with Pepe in it. Spots are limited, because Pepe can only be in so many rooms at once.
Connected chat
A live chat room linked to a pad. Pepe works in it, its chat and clips show on the pad's page, and PAT spent there fills the pad's vault.
Room
A live chat room in a chat app, such as a Camfrog video chat room. A room is where people talk live; a pad is its home on the web.
Pepe
PATV's host, a frog bot. He chats, runs games and music, helps moderate, and posts on pads. He never bans anyone on his own.
Gang
A crew of players in Grand Theft Frogger, PATV's crime game played in chat. Gangs can take control of rooms, and the gang in control gets a share of that pad's payout.
Fort Knox
PATV's big shared vault. Half of what's spent in pads goes here, and it funds rewards across the site. (It's also what bank heists go after.)
Padiquette
The rules every pad on PATV follows. Owners can add house rules of their own on top.
